As a chartered surveyor and property consultant, Kevan has advised government, development agencies, local councils, public/private partnerships, investment funds, property investors and development companies, corporate and small businesses, charities, and individuals. He is a member of the RICS Regeneration Policy Panel, which provides guidance and advice on European and UK national and regional policy matters affecting property, construction, land and the environment.
PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Kevan Carrick
- Advised the Secretary of State for the environment in 1986 on the formation of the Tyne & Wear Development Corporation and acted as consultant to the Corporation on property matters throughout its activities until 1996. He advised on the highly successful development of Newcastle upon Tyne Quayside.
- Instigated the formation of the multi-disciplinary group to establish the Centre for Excellence in Regeneration, now called Ignite and managed by ONE NorthEast (www.ignite-ne.com)
- Advised Sunderland arc (www.sunderlandarc.co.uk) on the regeneration of key sites for the economic strategy of the City which advice has included: Vaux site viability and development policy; Holmeside development policy and appraisal of development proposals; appointment of preferred developer for Farringdon Row; and numerous other aspects of complex regeneration.
- Advised on the strategy to regenerate some 1,200 acres of river frontage land for employment and mixed use development and mixed use development, on the North Bank of the River Tyne for ONE NorthEast, Newcastle City Council and North Tyneside Council.
